The Salvation Army worldwide authorized the recognition of Mr. Shake's great contributions with a special honor in 2016. The Monterey Peninsula's only homeless day care center now bears the name: "Sabu Shake Sr. Good Samaritan Center."
Majors David & Gaylene Yardley presented the prestigious "Others" Award to Sabu J.R. Shake & Chris Shake on October 3, 2013. The "Others" Award is the highest award The Salvation Army can bestow on a non-member. It is given to individuals that have contributed substantially to the benefit of others.
